Every vehicle in the UK needs to be tested each year to ensure that it complies with roadworthiness standards. If you have a car
that is more than 3 years old, it will need an MOT test each year to ensure that it meets at least the minimum road safety and
environmental standards

The MOT is effectively the examination of a motor vehicle's safety-related systems components to ensure that they have not worn to an excessive level which would otherwise render the vehicle unsafe for use on the road. It is possible for items to pass the MOT inspection and yet still be regarded as past their service life at a routine service. For more information in what checks occur, click on a link below.
